Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid Live Stream

Celta Vigo will host Real Madrid on Wednesday as the Spanish Copa del Rey resumes.

In the first leg of this tie, Celta Vigo beat Real Madrid 2–1 away from home, so the underdogs have an advantage entering Wednesday’s second leg.

Real Madrid is coming off a 2–1 over Malaga in La Liga play, while Celta Vigo most recently lost to Real Sociedad 1–0.

They’ll have to do it without James Rodriguez, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Marcelo, Raphael Varane, Pepe and Dani Carvajal, players who usually play an important role when healthy.

Zidane and the players believe they can do it, but Madrid must be patient and play with an attacking-minded football at the same time. Los Blancos have the tools to dismantle Celta, but will they?

Celta Vigo predicted XI: Alvarez, Mallo, Cabral, Roncaglia, Jonny, Radoja, Diaz, Wass, Hernandez, Bongonda, Aspas.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Casilla, Danilo, Nacho, Ramos, Coentrao, Casemiro, Kroos, Kovacic, Vazquez, Ronaldo, Benzema.

Eibar vs Barcelona Live Stream

Barcelona will be expected to keep the pressure up on Real Madrid and Sevilla at the top of La Liga on Sunday, even though they face a tricky test at Eibar.

Sevilla’s 2-1 win over Real Madrid last weekend has enlivened a title race that looked almost done and dusted heading into the previous round of fixtures. But now Los Blancos, having admittedly played a game less, are just two points clear of their biggest rivals.

As the final fixture of the weekend, Barcelona could be even further away from their title rivals come kick-off. Given Eibar have only lost twice at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium all season, this will be no Sunday stroll for the Blaugrana.

Here are the viewing details for the contest, the latest team news ahead of the game and a closer look at how this match will likely pan out.

Eibar welcome Luis Enrique’s Barcelona side to the Ipurua Municipal Stadium on Sunday. The Basque side well relish the opportunity to play against last year’s La Liga champions but the Blaugrana will probably have too much for them. After a torrid spell where many thought that Enrique might lose his job, Barcelona have had a good couple of weeks. They thumped Las Palmas last weekend and then managed to win 1-0 against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey in midweek. Considering Barcelona have a terrible recent away record at Sociedad that was a fantastic result for them.

Benfica play host to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday as the Portuguese league leaders aim to overcome a first-leg deficit and advance to the semi-finals.

Last week, Bayern were 1-0 victors at home, a solitary goal from Arturo Vidal in the opening moments being enough to put them on the front foot for the second leg.

In spite of the first-leg victory, Pep Guardiola took care to rotate his squad over the weekend and give some of his star players a bit of extra rest.

“We’ll travel to Lisbon with respect,” CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge explained, according to his club’s official website. “It’s going to be a tough match, but the result in the first leg wasn’t so bad.”

Benfica coach Rui Vitoria didn’t have the luxury of being able to rotate his stars over the weekend, with Sporting hot on his side’s heels. The Eagles beat Academica Coimbra on Saturday, but the win proved to be costly as captain and star attacker Nico Gaitan sustained a muscular injury that has left his availability for Wednesday’s match in question.

With Jonas suspended and the possibility of Gaitan being out, Benfica’s attack will be decimated, and the hosts still need a goal to draw level on aggregate. It promises to be a huge task for the Portuguese side.

Still, Benfica midfielder Pizzi spoke confidently of his side when UEFA.com interviewed him over the weekend. The 26-year-old underlined the importance of having the home crowd behind him: “There is a fantastic atmosphere at the Estadio da Luz,” he said. “Our fans show all their passion, and obviously everyone at Benfica expects another great European night.”

Rui Vitoria believes his Benfica side’s showing in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg vs. Bayern Munich puts them in a good position to surprise the Bundesliga power on Wednesday in Lisbon.

Benfica managed to leave the Allianz Arena in Munich just one goal down, after conceding an early strike to Arturo Vidal and then holding on for the 1-0 final.

Now Vitoria says the team will hunker down at the Estadio da Luz and focus on defence first as they try to pull off a miracle win against Pep Guardiola’s side and advance to the semifinals.

“We have to play well defensively as we’re facing one of the best teams in the world, one of the favourites to win the competition and a side who set up the same home and away,” Vitoria said ahead of the match, while adding: “Nicolas Gaitan is a doubt and only before the match will I know if I can count on him.”

Match preview

Barcelona head to Madrid aiming to show their campaign is still on track for domestic and European success.

Luis Enrique’s men will defend a 2-1 lead at the Vicente Calderon but head into the tie on the back of successive defeats in La Liga to Real Madrid and Real Sociedad.

Team News

Fernando Torres is Los Rojiblancos’ big absentee, suspended after being sent off in the first leg for two yellow cards—the result of over-exuberant tackles in a fast, aggressive start by Atletico overall—and just minutes after he had opened the scoring.

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona meet for the fourth time this season on Wednesday night, competing in the UEFA Champions League for a place in the semi-finals.

The Catalan outfit won the first leg 2-1 a week ago, but their form of late has been patchy. Atleti are their biggest rivals domestically, as well as in this one-off fixture in continental competition. Diego Simeone knows his team need a big performance, but he’s far from conceding defeat, per his comments on ESPNFC: “We want to get to the last four and annoy people in the Champions League, just like in La Liga.”

To “annoy” teams is certainly how his side set up, being one of the most tactically well laid-out in Europe again this season with the best defence anywhere.

Former Atleti winger Cristian Rodriguez says the current manager is “untouchable” on account of the success he has brought Los Colchoneros, per Charly Siffredi and Harry De Cosemo of Marca, and firmly believes the home side could mount a comeback—though he also rates Barca’s Luis Suarez as better than Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, which is an obvious danger to Atletico’s hopes of progression.

Chelsea have slowly returned to consistent form under the guidance of interim boss Guus Hiddink, coasting into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 5-1 win at MK Dons on Sunday which followed up a 1-0 away win over Barclays Premier League title chasers Arsenal.

The Hornets earned a creditable 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, Hiddink’s first game of his second stint in the role after he was brought in to replace Jose Mourinho until the end of the season.

“In the first games against Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City we were very close. I hope we have learned a lesson and that in the second leg, we have the possibility to soon be (getting better results) with these kind of teams.

“We were a little bit tired in December, with a lot of matches, but have passed through this period.”

Flores confirmed new signing Mario Suarez could be involved in the squad, but on-loan Chelsea full-back Nathan Ake is not eligible to face his parent club.

“He doesn’t know at the moment how we play exactly but he knows me and I know this player,” the Watford manager said of the Spain midfielder, signed in a £4million deal from Fiorentina.

“I think the adaptation time of top players is very quick.”

Watford also brought in Abdoulaye Doucoure and Adalberto Penaranda on permanent deals ahead of the transfer deadline, but both players have been loaned out to La Liga club Granada to continue their development ahead of a return to compete for a first-team place next season.

“The mentality we have before we sign players is to sign good players, but players who feel inside they will stay with Watford, who are thinking about the future and the project,” Flores said.

“Of course, we are really positive we can do something good.”

Flores continued: “We know they have the possibility to improve a lot because they’ve got Willian, (Diego) Costa, (Eden) Hazard, Oscar, (Nemanja) Matic, (John Obi) Mikel and (Cesc) Fabregas.
