Kent State is having a night mare of a time getting the offense moving. It took a game against Delaware State and two overtimes against Marshall for the Golden Flashes to get more than 20 points, coming up with just 22 points in the last three games. The D was enough to get by UMass, but with no passing game and way too many problems on third downs – the Golden Flashes are last in the nation converting just 24% of the time – the O doesn’t move.
Will the defense be enough? It’s not like UB is moving the ball, either, converting just 36% of its chances. The Bull offense can put points on the board, but the running game has been underwhelming at times and the consistency wasn’t there for long stretches during a three-game losing streak. The Golden Flash defense has been terrific against the run and should make the Bulls press a bit. This is going to be a rough, ugly, low-scoring game – that helps Kent State.
Happen :The Buffalo offense will be a wee bit better. The weapons are more talented and the production is starting to kick in a bit. UB has a passing attack; Kent State doesn’t. Don’t expect anything pretty.
