Washington Redskins vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers takes place on Thursday night in a Week 4 NFL Preseason 2013 game. The Redskins have a perfect preseason record so far, and come into this game on the back of three straight wins; they will want to make that a perfect four tonight heading into the regular season in September. The game starts at 7.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream.
There’s no genuine formative association for the NFL. After school, you are either in the alliance, or you are searching for work in the Canadian Football League, Arena Football League, or one of the lower indoor associations. Each time somebody begins a potential formative group for the NFL, it appears to vanish quickly from that point.
With a record of 3-0 coming into this game, the Redskins have their rush offense to thanks for some amazing gains that have build the foundation for their perfect record so far. They have recorded an average of 172.3 yards on rush per game so far, Roy Helu and Keiland Williams doing the damage.
Helu has carried 27 for 157 yards and 1 touchdown and an average of 5.8 yards per carry. Williams has been a solid alternative carrying 18 times for 102 yards and 1 touchdown, and an average carry of 5.7 yards. Such consistent breaking of opposition defensive lines have helped the Redskins to repeatedly put opposition teams on the backfoot, and they will be hoping to maintain that intensity tonight and into the regular season.
So far this preseason the Redskins have gained wins over Tennessee 22-21, Pittsburgh 24-13, and last week Buffalo 30-7.
Highlighted by the connections he made with Aldrick Robinson and Ryan Grant, Colt McCoy completed 22 of 29 passes for 321 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Shifting the focus to the highly-contested battle at running back, Lache Seastrunk and Silas Redd made their cases to make the team.
The team’s leading rusher, Redd showcased his power throughout the contest. Toting the rock 14 times, Redd had 79 yards and a touchdown. Finishing with just 23 yards rushing, Seastrunk made his impact in the passing game. He had just two receptions, but one resulted in an 80-yard touchdown.
Hampered by an ankle injury all preseason, Chris Thompson showed little sign of injury. While he only had 18 yards on the ground, he tallied 4 receptions for 41 yards in the passing game.
Looking to the defense, it was Deja vu all over again. The Redskins held Tampa Bay to just 15 yards in the first half. Surrendering just 157 yards on the game, Washington’s defense also registered four sacks.
While the team’s 3-1 record in the preseason means little going forward, the depth Washington displayed throughout is an indicator that, unlike last season, the team can survive injury.
